What Should I bring to UrbanaCon?
When arriving at UrbanaCon we expect each player to have their own set of dice, a pencil, their character sheet (if applicable), their choice of games they would like the team to try, their own set of rulebooks, and their favorite snacks and drinks. A wallet full of Benjamins is always encouraged as the lowest denomination of bills to tip your DM on a daily basis. The most important item to remember to bring is your badge. You will not be allowed into the dungeon without your badge. Also, please remember to bring your UrbanaCon schedule. We strictly follow the schedule that you received via email, SMS text, or snail mail. At UrbanaCon, we pride ourselves on starting all events at their scheduled start times and sticking to the schedule. We do allow for bathroom breaks, and snack breaks during the events.
Are there Delivery and Food Services?
One of the things we do pride ourselves on at the UrbanaCon is that you live role play the delivery guy. It is encouraged that you deliver our dinner to us at least one day during a 4 day CON. This is our gift to you. Lunch will be provided on most occasions by the event coordinator. In the mornings: coffee, tea, and donuts will be provided by the event team as long as someone attending the CON brings them. This is typically a hit or miss concept by most team members. We do provide a table for all guests to place the breakfast items on to share with all attendees and the UrbanaCon Staff members.
What hotel accommodations are near the Dungeon?
You will need to figure that out on your own. We are currently located in a pole barn but you are more than welcome to bring a sleeping bag. The neighbor next door does allow for 1 to 2 guests depending on whether you are their granddaughters or not. Some attendees do live on the UrbanaCon property, so please be respectful of them just trying to live their best life.
What is the temperature in the Dungeon?
Heating and Air Conditioning are provided during game play in the Dungeon depending upon what season of the year the CON is being held. We keep it as cozy 58 degrees in the Dungeon to give everyone that "dungeon feel".
How do I get invited to attend an UrbanaCon?
If you haven't been invited yet, then you are probably never going to be.
Where do I park?
The parking lot is typically full because of the number of vehicles belonging to the event coordinator. Parking is limited. Its best to park where you think your car has the least percentage chance of getting hit by a teenager or an old woman. We suggest you roll 2d10 (percentile dice) once your car is parked. Any roll under 5%, means odds are your car will get hit or at least damaged in some way at that spot. UrbanaCon LLC is not responsible for anything that happens to your vehicle while on the premises. It is not our fault, your rolls always suck.
What if I can't attend all UrbanaCon sessions?
We suggest you do everything humanly possible to attend all events, every day of the CON, and be on time. Our motto at UrbanaCon is "if you are 5 minutes early, you are on time. If you are on time, you are late." If you have appointments to do tattoos please cancel them and tell your clients you are busy. If you have sick kids, leave them with spouse. If you have to work, then just call off. If you have school, then call in sick. Obviously UrbanaCon is more important than any of these things.
